Rekrei: Re-creating lost heritage

Global Innovation Gathering (GIG)
re:publica 2016

Short thesis:

This workshop will walk people through the basics of crowdsourcing the reconstruction of lost heritage, from images to 3D models.

Description:

In this workshop, we will take participants through every step of the process required to effectively work with the Rekrei platform. We will show people how to identify important heritage sites, where people can find source information, and how they can upload and sort images into relevant groups. We will demonstrate how common photogrammetric software works, how they can upload their reconstructions to the web, and how they can curate their own galleries to retell the story of lost heritage.

15 participants maximum, please sign up at the GIG makerspace.  Sign up sheet will be available from the start of Day 1. Please come 10 mins before workshop
