The growing crises facing our societies - including climate change, ecological devastation and biodiversity collapse, exacerbated by unending war - are bound to disrupt many critical infrastructures of our modern world, such as communication, education, and energy networks. Adequately preparing for such disruptions is essential for communities and organizations operating in such challenging times.

From calling on indigenous wisdom and social practices, to deploying novel peer-to-peer technologies for group coordination around shared purpose such as community mesh networks and local energy hubs, the opportunities to address these crises are no longer a topic we can afford to ignore.

We will feature an inspiring case study of working with an educational initiative in war-torn Gaza. Despite severe internet limitations, the initiative empowered educators to continue their work using offline tools and locally adapted resources. We will talk about what was possible, how challenges were overcome, and how global online communities can support on-the-ground efforts.
