It’s 2030. Berlin is in the grip of a climate-induced food crisis. Extreme weather events have devastated crops across Europe. Supply chains are frozen. Access to safe, nutritious food is disrupted. Food insecurity is rising across the city. Communities need local, low-tech, and sustainable ways to grow, process, and preserve food using what’s available.
You’ve just arrived at a community makerspace — the only place still powered by solar. You have 1 hour to prototype a tool, device, or system that could help Berliners survive, adapt, and regenerate their food systems using maker tools, digital fabrication, or scrap materials.
