In times of war and polarisation, does anyone want to hear the rational voice of journalists? Since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine it often seems nuanced truth is losing out to information warfare propelled by algorithmic silos and polarisation. But this needn’t be the case. This 60 minute session will present recent findings by truth-seekers on the ground in Poland and across Central and Eastern Europe. Anna Slojewska, Brussels Correspondent for Rzeczpospolita, will speak about launching the Lie Detectors media literacy programme in Poland, and will be joined by Deutsche Welle's Jochen Spangenberg, who will speak about European activities, respective challenges and success stories in the field of countering disinformation. The conversation will be moderated by Juliane von Reppert-Bismarck, Founder and Executive Director of Europe's largest media literacy project, Lie Detectors.
