Feminism in India is going digital – but so are stereotypes. At the same time, German perceptions of India remain shaped by media narratives that often miss the nuances of a country in flux. In this meet-up, we’ll discuss what happens when online activism meets offline realities and cross-generational dialogues – and when digital feminism travels across borders.

What can we learn from India's feminist movements? How have voting cards or mobile payments emancipated millions of women? How are grassroots networks building change from the ground up these days? And what role do post-colonial narratives play in the way German media portrays India? We’ll explore how identity, gender, and power are shaped and shared in a digitalised world – and how bridges between cultures, countries, and communities can be built.

Join us for a conversation.

The meetup will be held in German, English, and Hindi – in cooperation with the Indo-German Media Network (IGMN).
