The discourse on sustainability is basically a new playground for capitalism. Our human ‘activities of understanding’ have created a dependency on data, information and knowledge. This comes —as Georg Franck notes— at a high price of time and energy resources. According to this assumption contemporary technology driven sustainability efforts may produce surplus of ‚non-material’ information parallel to shortness of ‚material’ resources.
This reflection on sustainability is the base for our thoughts about the relationship among nature, technology and human practice on the example of fashion and textiles.
