The most visible "alternatives" to the hegemonic economical system reproduce and amplify its shortcomings while providing little in return: centralization (most alt/crypto coins are in even fewer hands), anti-ecological (lots of computing power to create/conform consensus and the "mining" metaphor), external imposed treadmills (gamification of behavior to be rewarded) to name few. But alternatives economies (of care, reciprocity, co-responsibility) have been among us since long time ago. So, how alternative, distributed, and local first social media, could be used in the small to deploy, empower, showcase and reinforce circular economies? How the tech, data and algorithms behind become a common, to be understood, built and changed in plurality? This lecture approach to this questions showcasing a set of embodied practices and conceptual prototypes developed from/within a place in the Global South (The Andes mountains in Colombia) including and connecting: an informal solidarity savings cooperative, food sovereignty and mushrooms cultivation, critical code and data literacy workshops and distributed eco-blockchains (of eventual convergence) for circular economy.

In the lecture we will present the examples, the present and possible connections and the educational and embodied practices that can empower such  projects in the small at the local communities and eventually create synergies with international efforts that foster Global Souht+North dialogues.
