Wolfgang is a professor of Intelligent Mobility Concepts at the Esslingen University and Head of the Fraunhofer Application Center KEIM. He is passionate about digital innovation and mobility. His work focuses on creating more sustainable mobility systems that make use of new technologies and change the way we travel.
Wolfgang worked as an entrepreneur and as a manager in Daimler’s Business Innovation unit. There, he worked on shared mobility concepts like car2go and initiated moovel, a mobility platform that offers customers the best options for traveling from point A to point B by combining diverse modes of transportation.
He has worked on shared autonomous mobility systems as Head of Autonomous Mobility Services at car2go, as a researcher at the MIT Media Lab, and as a professor at the Stuttgart Media University where he co-founded the Institute for Mobility and Digital Innovation. He has investigated different aspects of business models, service design, user behavior, and fleet organization of mobility-as-a-service models.
Wolfgang holds a Ph.D. in Innovation Management from the RWTH Aachen University, a Master’s Degree in Information Systems and he graduated in Business Administration.
