Robin Geiss is the Director of the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR). He has over twenty years' experience in peace and security, with a focus on the impact of new technologies in these areas. Prior to his current appointment by United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres, he was Professor of International Law and Security at the University of Glasgow, held the Swiss Chair of International Humanitarian Law at the Geneva Academy and taught at Sciences Po in Paris. Prior to that he had served with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
