Julieta Arancio is a researcher and community organiser in open science. She holds a degree in environmental science from Universidad de Buenos Aires and a PhD in science and technology studies from Universidad Nacional de Quilmes. Her current work at the Open Research Funders Group catalyses institutional adoption of Open Science at research institutions, informed by community facilitation with key stakeholders in this space. As a social scientist, her research has explored open hardware as an enabler of research questions and agendas that are not favored by current incentives and funding schemes. Julieta co-founded the open science hardware network in Latin America (reGOSH) and the mentorship program “Open Hardware Makers”. She has recently designed and run seminars on open hardware for graduate students at the Technical University Berlin.
