Beth is a researcher and open-source advocate working at the intersection of space technology and global access to science. She's currently a PhD student at the University of Strathclyde's Applied Space Technology Laboratory, where her work focuses on decentralizing and automating satellite operations to make low Earth orbit safer and more sustainable. With a background physics and software engineering, Beth bridges academic research with hands-on impact through open-source tools. She has volunteered with the OpenFlexure project since 2024, actively contributing to the development of 3D-printed microscopes that bring accessible, high-quality microscopy to communities around the world, supporting the project's mission of 'Microscopy for Everyone'.
