Calle Reuter is used to thinking about problems from an interdisciplinary perspective: next to having majored in both physics and political science and working in the area of feminist science and technology studies, they regularly organize events of socio-critical STEM education and investigate the different meanings of the same scientific term in social and natural sciences - have you ever thought about how social norms could have a meaning of constructing distance as mathematical norms do?

Algorithms aren't just neutral code. But how to actually critically examine one? Let's try a new approach, from our multidisciplinary seminar "If Then - But Why?". We'll apply these methods to the matching algorithm of dating app Hinge, engaging with it technically (If Then) and socially (But Why?).
