We’ve prepared a special treat for the re:publica Thessaloniki (11-13 September)! We are happy to announce our collaboration with Reworks Agora, with whom we’ll be co-curating a panel, as well as offering you the chance to attend both conferences thanks to a nice price combo ticket.
In ancient Greece, the "Agora" was the gathering place where free citizens meet in order to discuss important issues. Reworks Agora, the cross-topic forum at the Reworks electronic and contemporary music festivals, aims at a forward-thinking approach to help capture a future-oriented vision for creativity, presenting emerging topics, initiatives and artists so as to inspire a dialogue on the development of culture, entrepreneurship and technology. With this year’s theme “2030: What’s next?”, Reworks Agora is focusing on future scenarios that will help shape our rapidly changing world, exploring trends and identifying risks and opportunities for a sustainable future through culture.
On 13 September, discussions, presentations and talks will be held to showcase the most innovative developments currently contributing to growth in various sectors in Greece. Among them are innovations from the music industry, digital culture, creative economy and the arts, with the programme also including installations, screenings and a concert by the experimental pianist and Oscar nominee, Hauschka.
This year, re:publica is focusing on Europe with the mission statement: “Let’s re:connect EUROPE” – which includes our field trip all the way from Dublin to Thessaloniki. Reworks Agora, already a partner of the European programme “We are Europe”, has a similar approach to the concept of European community and is welcoming two partner music festivals this year, Nuits Sonores | European Lab in Burssels and Insomnia Festival in Tromsø, Norway, to co-curate part of its programme. As you can see, we not only share the same first two letters in our names, we also share a similar attitude.
And the best part – besides our joint session – we’re offering all festival and music enthusiasts a combo ticket for re:publica Thessaloniki and Reworks Agora on Wednesday, 13 September, including talks, screenings and the Hauschka concert.
See you in Thess!
