MEDIA CONVENTION Berlin x re:publica 21
As the main partner of re:publica 2021, MEDIA CONVENTION Berlin will kick off the event on 20 May 2021 with a day dedicated to the media world, highlighting trends in media, discussing developments and backgrounds in the film, TV and streaming business as well as political and social developments in the media market.
With the tagline "In the Mean Stream" we will take a look at changing audience habits and content before and during the lockdown. We discuss diversity in the film industry and what is happening in terms of diversity in front of and behind the camera in German television. Private television is practising a surprising quality improvement and is adopting an attitude in many places. Flash in the pan or paradigm shift? And what is the current situation in public broadcasting?
We look at "games and immersive storytelling", explore the question of how local journalism is currently doing in Germany and what sustainable support can look like in this area. What about the new State Media Treaty, journalistic due diligence and regulation in action? And how and why do disinformation and "hate speech" actually spread on the net?
These and many other topics will be discussed with many exciting speakers including Katja Bäuerle, Creative Responsibility Manager at UFA, Annabel Yeomans, Senior Analyst at Ampere Analysis, Hendrike Bake, Managing Director of INDIEKINO Berlin and operator of the streaming platform INDIEKINO CLUB, Daniel Rosemann, Head of Broadcasting at ProSieben and ProSieben MAXX, Raquel Kishori Dukpa, Street and Community Caster, author (e.g. Druck) and part of the JÜNGLINGE collective, Philip Pratt, Director Deutsche Originals at Amazon Studios, Eva Flecken, Director of the Medienanstalt Berlin-Brandenburg, Torben Klausa, journalist and doctoral student at the University of Bielefeld, Benjamin Grimm, State Secretary in the State Chancellery of Brandenburg, Commissioner for Media and Digitalisation, Tobias Schmid, Director of the Media Authority of North Rhine-Westphalia, Wolfgang Kreißig, Chairman of the Conference of Directors of the State Media Authorities, Andreas Trunschke of webfischerei, Mona Rübsamen, co-founder and managing partner of the Berlin broadcasting network Flux FM / FluxMusic, Nina Morschhäuser, Head of Public Policy, Government & Philanthropy, Twitter Deutschland), Dietmar SchiffermüllerHead of Editorial, STRG_F and many more.
