"I am as old as the Web and this is what I want."

Short thesis

The Internet just celebrated its 25th anniversary. Depending on your perspective, twenty-five years of World Wide Web seems either a long or a very short time. On the one hand, the inventors of the web are still alive. On the other hand, there is already a whole generation for whom "being connected" is the most natural thing in the world.

Instead of discussing "the Internet" with "digital migrants" who are generally in the position to formulate and take decisions with regard to national, regional and international internet policies, the German Foreign Office and the Web Foundation are partnering with the aim to give those who simply live "the Internet", the digital natives, a voice.

Together with us, two digital natives will comment and help us brainstorm ideas and solutions.

We will be presenting our initiative to actively engage digital natives in current policy debates and are inviting any young person with a creative mind to come and share their ideas about the future they envision and the Web they Want. We will share our insigts from both, government and civil society efforts to develop innovative methods for greater inclusion of digital natives. We are curious to hear your suggestions of how to further improve such engagement and look forward to an inspring debate.
