A new look for our next journey: Dublin & Thessaloniki ahoy! For re:connecting EUROPE, we came up with something special inspired by maritime signal flags.
As of 24 April 2017, you’ll be able to catch the new re:publica trailer on the 4,500 screens of the Berliner Fenster and Münchner Fenster! Over the course of the three event days, you can read up on highlights from the conference, as well as get tips on online privacy and security, among other things.
re:publica TEN's mirror themed design was communicated in print, advertising, and trailers and permeated the event space with some imposing installations at STATION Berlin. #rpTEN's visual appearance has now gone on to win a German Design Award by the German Design Council. We are so very happy for our design team!
This year we celebrated the 10th re:publica and what a party it turned out to be! TEN is NET was the central theme and the all-round design showed that YOU are re:publica! Check out how our designers and architects put it all together.
- Science & Technology-Ist Design in einer global vernetzten Welt eigentlich noch Selbstzweck und ein engstirniges Experten-Thema?
- Science & Technology-Trapped in an imaginary web of NODES and EDGES we have come to visualize much of our lives and relationships in terms of the simplistic network diagram. Networks aren't bad, they are just drawn that way. Yet their iconic visual representation and its gross misinterpretation have contributed much to our eroding privacy and political agency under the myth of Big Data and all knowing algorithms. It is time for us to challenge the network and its PROTOCOLS rather than blindly go with the FLOW.
Starting on 4 April 2016, the new re:publica TEN trailer will be broadcast on all 3,800 screens on Berlin's U-Bahn – and that's just the start of it!
- Science & Technology-We humans co-evolve with our tools. This is an ongoing dynamic with key inflection points throughout history, such as the move to agriculture, and the Industrial Revolution. We’re in another major inflection point now, focused on how one of our most powerful tools, the digital world, is expanding into a new realm, the physical world. While until only recently “the real world” and “the cloud” seemed to be so different, we’re now seeing that there’s a merging of the two, and it will only increase in future.
This year’s motto, Finding Europe, was realized by the re:publica designers and architects in just a few months. For the #rp15 the STATION-Berlin was visually transformed into an airport.
Finding Europe: Our creatives have been searching for Europe, and on top of crafting us a brilliant CI and web design, they also made a wonderful trailer, to give you a taste of the upcoming #rp15!
