Anyone who knows Katja Berlin also knows her “Torten der Wahrheit” ("Pies of Truth"). Her column in DIE ZEIT has been around for seven years already. The satirical infographics are both revealing social criticism and humorous analyses of our times.

Next to her work as a columnist, the feminist artist is a bestselling author, podcaster and works for television productions. Last year saw the publication of her 15th book, which she wrote together with Anika Decker. "Nachrichten von Männern" ("Messages from Men") classifies the male world into communicative genres—with the help of analysing numerous chats and emails from the archives of the two authors.

3 Questions for... Katja Berlin

We are very pleased to announce Katja Berlin as speaker for re:publica 22 and have asked her three questions in advance.

What topic will you be talking about at #rp22?
I'll be talking about truths and infographics, about German society, about equality and progress.

What have you missed out on in the past two years and think is in urgent need of a reboot?
Small talk! I'm looking forward to finally talking about the weather again with others who are not necessarily close to me.

The motto of #rp22 refers to the last line of the Queen song "Bohemian Rhapsody". Which song do you think should definitely be included in a karaoke session at #rp22 and why?
Queen is absolutely perfect! I don't like Queen's music and it's in everyone's interest that I don't sing along at any karaoke.
