Alexander Russell is an entrepreneur based in Brooklyn. In 2021, he founded Nothing Special, a kava beverage company whose mission is to help people consume less physical junk (alcohol) and less digital junk (cheap, online dopamine) to get back to the simple life lived well. 

Before founding Nothing Special, Alexander worked in the consumer/retail M&A group at Lazard Frères & Co. in New York City.

Alexander has an MPhil in Political and Economic Theory from Trinity College, Cambridge, where he was a Lenox-Conyngham Scholar.

He graduated with BS degrees in Finance and Environmental Sciences from the University of Virginia, where he led responsible business initiatives for UVA’s endowment and worked for the Nature Conservancy.
