The Centre for Political Beauty became known for its performance art through numerous interventions - from the construction of a Shoah memorial in front of Björn Höcke's house to establishing the fictitious flyer service ‘Hahn’ during the 2021 Bundestag election campaign, which ultimately resulted in 72 tonnes of AfD flyers ending up in the rubbish. Their most useful tool? Fiction.
At #rp25, Stefan Pelzer and Philipp Ruch from the Centre for Political Beauty will be presenting facts and fun, including their new project - the Adenauer SRP+, a converted prison bus that made its first appearance at the AfD's federal party conference in Riesa. At this talk, re:publica participants can also learn how to become accomplices.
The activits are convinced: Germany has to not only learn from its history, but also act. Because to remember means to fight. This goal is often hindered in German civil society by political inactivity, cowardice, and ignoring those who seek help.
Stefan Pelzer is the ‘escalation officer’ at the Centre for Political Beauty and is primarily responsible for ensuring enough stress during the events and that the spectators get their money's worth.
Philipp Ruch is a philosopher and performance artist. He is co-founder of the Centre for Political Beauty and describes himself as a moral hardliner. His most recent book was published: "Es ist 5 vor 1933" - in which Ruch addresses what the AfD is capable of and what it intends to do with Germany.
