#rp22 Speaker Luisa Neubauer: Reason for Hope

One of the best-known spokespersons for Fridays for Future Germany, Luisa Neubauer has been a climate protection activist and co-organiser of the climate strike movement for three years.

Prior to her involvement with Fridays for Future, Luisa worked as a youth ambassador for the development NGO "ONE", the international climate protection organisation 350.org and participated as one of four German delegates at the 2018 World Youth Summit "Y7" and the World Climate Summit in Katowice, Poland, where she also met Fridays for Future initiator Greta Thunberg.

As an author, Luisa Neubauer has already written for various online media and magazines. She published the book "Vom Ende der Klimakrise - Eine Geschichte unserer Zukunft" (The End of the Climate Crisis - A History of Our Future) together with Alexander Repenning in 2019 and the book "Noch haben wir die Wahl - Ein Gespräch über Freiheit, Ökologie und den Konflikt der Generationen" (We Still Have the Choice - A Conversation about Freedom, Ecology and the Conflict of Generations) together with Bernd Ulrich in 2021. Since 2020, she has hosted the Spotify podcast "1.5 degrees", and since 2021 she has been part of the ZEIT's "Green Council".

In 2021, Luisa Neubauer, together with other climate activists and environmental organisations, filed a constitutional complaint to have the Federal Constitutional Court declare the Federal Climate Protection Act incompatible with fundamental rights in elementary parts.

Luisa has already been on the stages of re:publica and TINCON in 2019 and we are looking forward to continuing the dialogue with her at #rp22.

What topic will you be talking about at #rp22?
I will talk about why there is more reason for hope than ever, how we do not despair now and what it will take to get us out of these times of crisis.

What have you missed out on in the past two years and think is in urgent need of a reboot? 
Of course, we urgently need a new start in climate policy! :D
