The Federal Ministry for Education, Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth is the ministry for the whole of society. For us, digitalization is therefore not first and foremost a technical transformation process, but above all a social transformation process. The digital policy activities of the BMBFSFJ aim to strengthen both social cohesion and the resilience of our democracy in the midst of digital transformation. In doing so, we also focus on strengthening epertise and skills across all generations. Digital participation must not be a question of origin, age or social status, but is a prerequisite for ensuring that everyone can benefit from the opportunities of digitalization.

Federal Youth Minister Karin Prien discusses with you in a town hall meeting how effective child and youth protection can be shaped in the digital world. In addition we would like to engage with you in various ways at re:publica 26: about what a Cross-generational Digital Competence Initiative needs to be successful, and how we can better utilize the potential of artificial intelligence to support people with dementia in everyday life and strengthen their participation. In collaboration with civil society organizations, we are also developing AI challenges that can be incorporated into the Civic Coding Accelerator. The booth of the federal program "Demokratie leben!" in the Expo Area invites you to learn about its various activities.
