Mandy Tröger

Mandy Tröger is a media and communication researcher and journalist. Born and raised in (East) Berlin, she received her PhD from the Institute of Communications Research at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) in 2018. Since, she has held research positions at the University of Munich (LMU) and at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media, Germany. Since 2023, Mandy Tröger is a Walter Benjamin Fellow of the German Research Foundation (DFG) at the University of Tübingen, Germany. Her research focuses on post-socialist media history and the transformation of media and communication systems. Since 2021, she also works as a media columnist for the Berlin newspaper Berliner Zeitung.
