Rui Boavista Marques

Experienced international trade and investment relations specialist. Rui has committed to long-term assignments in Asia, namely more than 10 years based in Tokyo, in the US, including 6 years based in New York covering North America operations, and also in Europe, with 6 years in Germany, 4 years in Norway and 4 years in the UK. He was part of the Portuguese Presidency of the Council on the EU, in 2021 in Brussels, as President of the Trade Policy Committee - Investment. His focus continues to be the deepening of understanding of international trade and investment trends, and has extensive studies on the dynamics of FDI (Foreign Direct Investment), including a PhD on the subject from the University of Tokyo, RCAST. Now he is back in Berlin, to further develop the trade and investment bilateral relations between Portugal and Germany.
