Born in 1985 in Luckenwalde, Benjamin Gutsche is a German screenwriter and director. He gained prominence as the creator of the dark HBO Max comedy "Arthurs Law" (2018) and the ARD series "All You Need" (2021), the first German public broadcaster series centered on a gay friendship group, which garnered significant attention for its portrayal of queer relationships. Gutsche's work often blends genres, as seen in his successful Netflix series "Cassandra" (2025), a retro-futuristic psychological thriller set in two different timelines, exploring themes of technology and human identity. An autodidact, Gutsche began his career making short films during his civil service in a senior citizens' home. He later worked his way up from set runner to assistant director on various TV productions.
