FAQ

Volunteers

As a volunteer at re:publica, you will be on duty once for 8 or twice for 4 hours. You will help to realise the festival together with the re:publica crew and crew support and make it a great experience for everyone involved. You will have access to re:publica 24 in Berlin and TINCON at all times.

No, unfortunately re:publica cannot help you with travel or accommodation.

Yes, the volunteer intro meeting will take place on Sunday, 26 May 2024 at 2 p.m. at STATION Berlin – more information will follow. It will last about 1.5 hours. Participation is voluntary, but highly recommended, as you can meet the re:publica team and your fellow volunteers and explore the location.

The most important thing is always to let us know as soon as possible so that we can plan accordingly. Nothing is more difficult for us than if you simply don't show up. If you feel ill, please stay at home and let us know. Please note that a festival like this is also exhausting as a visitor. So please only apply for one of the later shifts or for dismantling if you are confident that you can do it.

Most likely not. The shifts are allocated gradually. It is therefore possible that some volunteers receive their shift(s) earlier than others. If it is important for you to know your shift(s) by a certain date, please note this in the application form and let us know the date.

Officially no. In principle, it is not possible to have periods of work recognised as "Bildungurlaub/-zeit" (educational leave). However, the experience of some former volunteers shows that some employers are willing to agree on this because of the educational nature of re:publica – so it's best to ask your employer directly.

You will receive our volunteer handbook by email in good time before the event. In it you will find all the detailed information and contact persons. If you already have urgent basic questions, please send us an e-mail to volunteers@re-publica.com.
