A live quiz show that tests how much we actually know about countries and stories we love to label “the Global South”. The point is not to shame anyone. The point is to expose the patterns behind what we think we know, and give people a simple toolkit to build a less distorted news diet.

Most people think they have a “global” worldview. Then you ask basic questions about politics, culture, economics, media ecosystems, or even geography outside Europe and North America and things fall apart fast.

This session is a live quiz show with the audience. You answer anonymously on your phone. I reveal the correct answers immediately, then give a tight 20 to 30 seconds of context: what the answer is, why so many people guess wrong, and what that says about how information travels. No academic lecture and no guilt trip.

We’ll end with a practical mini-toolkit: a few rules that help you build a better information setup in 10 minutes, even if you’re busy and allergic to doomscrolling.
