This session will focus on the growing trend of Internet shutdowns across the world, India having the largest number of them. It will cover methods to fight against shutdowns ranging from advocacy, litigation and government push. The session will take Ukraine as a case study and discuss the impact these shutdowns have been having. There will also be a focus on the wide scale impact of shutdowns on citizens and how they are a popular method of suppressing dissent.
