Jessica Guy is a designer, maker, and strategic research Lead of Distributed Design at Fab Lab Barcelona. Jessica's team is collaboratively exploring the future of design. Their work focuses on investigating design ontologies, epistemologies, and axiologies through plural perspectives and commoning. Grounded in care, critical hope, and more-than-human perspectives, Jessica’s research examines how design driven by communal values in lifelong learning spaces can shift the modus operandi of design and maker education. Jessica has been an invited speaker at Vienna Design Week, the European Crafts Alliance Annual Conference, Rog Design Days, and Catalysts of Change: Innovations at the Intersection of Design, Heritage, and Technology, hosted by the Centre of Creativity and the Museum for Architecture (Slovenia). They also spoke at the Cultural and Creative Industries Event, organized by the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union through the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT).
