Sara Bolghiran is a PhD Student in Islamic Studies at Leiden University, she is mainly interested in processes of knowledge production and meaning-making in Islam – in particular in terms of how both are used in ethical social imaginaries, conceptualizations, and practices/realizations of utopias/the future. She is also a research associate (religion & migration) at the Erasmus-Leiden-Delft Centre for Governance of Migration and Diversity, and a member of the G20 Interfaith Forum Working Group on Religion and Gender. Sara has written on Muslims, diaspora, and youth for VICE BENELUX in the past and is currently working on a podcast series for the Leiden University Institute for the Study of Islam and Society on Muslim Futurism.
