Gesche Joost

Gesche Joost is director of the Einstein Center Digital Future and professor of design research at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK). Her research focuses on digital society as she designs new forms of human-technology interaction at DFKI, the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence, and at the Weizenbaum Institute for the Networked Society. As an internet ambassador, she represented the federal government on digital agenda issues in the EU Commission from 2015 to 2018. She is vice president of the Goethe-Institut. From 2015 to 2023 she was a member of the supervisory board of SAP SE, and since 2017 she has been a supervisory board member of ING DiBa and ottobock SE & Co. KGaA.
