Mathias O'Mahony er/ihm + he/him

Mathias is the host of the podcast "Milliarden Stimmen" presenting the Indian general elections 2024 to a German-speaking audience. He studies South Asian Studies at the University of Heidelberg and has just submitted his Master's Thesis which compared Indo-German and Indo-French defence cooperation. His research interests are Indo-German relations, climate politics and democratic backsliding. In his Bachelor's degree in European Studies at Passau University, he conducted a survey on Indian students in Germany in cooperation with the Bavarian-Indian Centre (BayIND). His first contact with India was a voluntary service in 2014-2015 on the island of Edurumondi, in the state of Andhra Pradesh. During his studies, he had exchange semesters at IIT Madras and Delhi University (both in India).
