Ramya Chandrasekhar is a lawyer and researcher at the Centre for Internet and Society at the CNRS, Paris. She studies legal strategies for non-government open data, with a focus on applying commons-based governance principles to data ecosystems. Her case-studies encompass researcher access to platform data, re-use of the open web for training foundation AI models, and governance of open health data in open science and citizen science initiatives. Ramya is also a consultant for the Open Knowledge Foundation, and a member of the Digital Commons Policy Council.
