Till Scholich is an advocate for creating great user experiences and driving the responsible development of AI, with a particular focus on its transformative potential in healthcare. He holds a Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction and Digital Health from the University of Michigan, where he co-authored a paper on leveraging AI to assist clinicians in diabetes care. He also led a study at Stanford’s Institute for Human-Centered AI, where the behavior of AI chatbots in mental health conversations was examined with a team of therapists.

Professionally, he has contributed to several startups as a Product Manager, blending technical insight with user-focused strategies to deliver impactful solutions. Most recently, he joined Ficus Health, where he is leading efforts to develop a product that empowers clinicians by making documentation processes more efficient with AI to save valuable time.

Combining academic research and industry expertise, he is dedicated to shaping trustworthy technology that improves the lives of both patients and healthcare workers.

Summary
As we increasingly talk to AI chatbots about our private lives, it is important to examine the impact they can have on our mental health. I will present the results of a study we conducted to show how they can help and harm users in vulnerable situations and outline its implications for all of us.
