Professor Chiso Ndukwe-Okafor is the Executive Director of the Consumer Advocacy and Empowerment Foundation (CADEF) in Nigeria, a non-profit organization committed to empowering, protecting, and enlightening consumers. Under her leadership, CADEF has significantly amplified the voices of vulnerable communities, particularly women, youth, and people with disabilities (PWDs), by increasing their autonomy and advocating for economic and social self-determination. Through partnerships with local and international organizations, CADEF has spearheaded initiatives aimed at enhancing financial literacy, promoting a green economy, responsible use of AI, promoting consumer protection, and increasing access to digital financial services for marginalized groups.
A passionate advocate for equality and women's empowerment, Prof. Ndukwe-Okafor has been instrumental in launching programs tailored to empower women economically, providing them with the tools to navigate financial systems and make informed decisions. Her work with women and other vulnerable groups extends to entrepreneurship training, where she fosters economic independence through capacity-building and mentorship.
Prof. Ndukwe-Okafor is a seasoned educator, information technology expert, serial entrepreneur, software developer, motivational speaker, and author with over 33 years of experience in higher education and advocacy. She has served as a Business and Information Technology Professor, Dean, Department Chair, curriculum designer, and Co-Principal Investigator for a National Science Foundation grant. Her international work includes providing strategic design and training services to organizations in the United States, Nigeria, Kenya, and Zambia, aiming to enhance capacity and foster inclusive development.
Her academic credentials include an MBA, MPA, and Ed.D degrees. As a co-owner of Anyworkman Services, a technology-enabled service company, and co-founder of several tech-based initiatives, she is committed to using technology as a tool for empowerment. Prof. Ndukwe-Okafor also serves on various advisory boards and is a trained entrepreneurship trainer, helping women and disadvantaged groups unlock their potential through innovation and strategic skill development.
