David Missal

David Missal is Vice Executive Director of Tibet Initiative Germany. He studied Sinology and Journalism in Germany and China. After being expelled from China in 2018 for interviewing human rights lawyers, he observed the mass protests in Hong Kong in 2019 for the Swiss daily Neue Zürcher Zeitung. He has been working as an activist and China expert in Germany since 2020, focusing on China's influence activities in Germany and is one of the initiators of the Coalition against Transnational Repression in Germany.
