Frank Govaere

Born in Belgium, Frank Govaere is an alumnus of the prestigious Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Frank's journey as a student was steeped in inspiration, mentored by none other than the legendary European animation pioneer, Raoul Servais. Immersed in the rich heritage of European animation, Frank emerged as a Master of Fine Arts, armed with a passion for film and storytelling.

With a career spanning both Europe and Asia, Frank has made an indelible mark collaborating with leading media companies. His creative journey commenced in the realm of traditional animation, where he honed his craft on feature films and TV series, as one of the pioneers in digitizing 2D animation workflows. Unquenchably curious, Frank fearlessly ventured into the realm of 3D animation and VFX, expanding his repertoire and pushing the boundaries of what is possible in visual effects.

As Animation Director, Producer, and VFX-Supervisor, Frank's unwavering focus has always been on technically challenging projects that demand innovative solutions. Equally adept at both technical and creative problem-solving, he actively contributed to the development of cutting-edge technologies, It is this unique blend of technical expertise and artistic finesse that has garnered Frank a reputation as an industry trailblazer.
Frank's tenure as the head of the VFX-Unit at UFA stands as a testament to his visionary leadership, spearheading groundbreaking endeavors in the realms of VR/AR/XR. He led UFA's charge in harnessing the creative and technical potentials of Volumetric Film, forever altering the landscape of immersive experiences.

In 2021, Frank embarked on a new chapter in his career, joining ICT AG to pave the way for one of Germany's first virtual production studios, HALOSTAGE. A true innovator at heart, he is currently authoring one of the first books on virtual production in the German language. Recognizing the power of knowledge-sharing, Frank has taken to LinkedIn to pre-publish his groundbreaking insights as a series of articles, enlightening and inspiring a new generation of creators.
