Positioned at the intersection of research and practice, her work focuses on democratizing digital society and advancing digital sovereignty—championing the individual and collective right to shape digital life. Combining practice-based research with advisory expertise, she supports organizations and governments in harnessing digital technologies to strengthen democratic processes.
In her current role, Elizabeth leads Demsoc's contributions to the "Knowledge Technologies for Democracy" project, designing AI-informed tools for democratic deliberation and embedding a "Democracy-in-the-Loop" approach to AI development. Previously, she served as an associate researcher at the Weizenbaum Institute – the German Internet Institute – and as a guest researcher at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.
