Can we get the cultural sector to stop cringing when we talk about business? Can we convince corporate to invest in digital arts beyond its artistic value? Together with leading digital art festivals, we have conducted a study of digital arts organizations in Europe to make sense of the ecosystems and its business models. How do they operate, how do they make money - do they actually make money?! - and what do they think of their ecosystem? We’ll be sharing the first findings of a comprehensive report in the making.

Expect research insights on CASH in the digital arts world, with a critical eye on buzzwords such as the metaverse, NFTs, and DAOs. The analysis is based on the results of a survey taken by 60+ organizations across Europe and selected interviews with experts in the industry, also beyond the EU.

The session will be brought to you by THE CATALYSTS, a consortium partner of Digital Inter/Section, alongside Kikk (Namur), Signal (Prague), Kontejner (Zagreb), Zinc (Marseille), and Massiv’Art (Montreal). Digital Inter/Section (DI/S) is financed by the European Commission.
