Jasmin Meinecke is a quantum physicists who has been working in the area of quantum optics for more than 10 years. In her research she is using photons (quantum particles of light) to investigate fundamental properties of quantum particles such as entanglement and superposition.  The photons are controlled in integrated photonic circuits which allow to build devices for quantum computing and quantum cryptography. After studying physics in Hamburg and Göttingen Jasmin did her PhD at the University of Bristol (UK) before moving back to Germany. At the moment she is START Fellow of MCQST the Munich Center for Quantum Science and Technology leading a research project in the area of open quantum systems.
