Rita Gsenger studierte Kultur-und Sozialanthropologie, Philosophie und Cognitive Science an den Universitäten Innsbruck und Wien. Während des Studiums war sie als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Institut für Informationssysteme und Neue Medien und dem Sustainable Computing Lab der Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien tätig. Seit Mai 2021 ist sie am Weizenbaum-Institut tätig und Teil der Forschungsgruppe „Normsetzung und Entscheidungsverfahren“. Ihr Promotionsprojekt befasst sich mit der Regulierung von Desinformation auf Online Plattformen. Außerdem forscht sie zu Entscheidungsfindung, die zur Veränderung von Normen führt, und zu Subkulturen, wie zum Beispiel QAnon.

Rita Gsenger studied Cultural and Social Anthropology, Philosophy, and Cognitive Science at the Universities of Innsbruck and Vienna. During her studies, she worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Information Systems and New Media and the Sustainable Computing Lab at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. Since May 2021 she is a research associate at the Weizenbaum Institute and she is part of the research group "Norm Setting and Decision Processes" since September 2022. Her doctoral project focuses on the regulation of disinformation on online platforms. She also conducts research on decision-making that leads to norm change and on subcultures, such as QAnon.
