Lajla Fetic is an expert on AI governance and digital policy and specializes in the social implications of artificial intelligence (AI). She advocates for effective AI governance to increase the transparent and accountable use of technologies. Lajla conducts research, speaks, and writes about how and under what conditions technology can strengthen the common good. She is a passionate lecturer on digital ethics and has been named one of the 100 Brilliant Women in AI Ethics for her contributions.

Prior, Lajla strategically developed and co-led two projects on strengthening the common good in a digital society for the Bertelsmann Stiftung. For example, the reframe[Tech] project aimed to develop solutions for managing algorithmic risks and motivate harnessing the potential of algorithms for public interest. She has co-authored several guides on AI ethics and helped create the AI ethics label as part of the AI Ethics Impact Group. Before joining the Bertelsmann Stiftung, Lajla worked on digitalization issues for the Stiftung Neue Verantwortung and an international public sector consultancy. She holds a Master of Public Policy from the Hertie School.
