Julia Stausberg-Umuerri

At DEG Impulse, a subsidiary of the German development finance institution DEG, Julia heads the develoPPP Ventures programme, which supports innovative start-ups in Africa with grant funding. At the heart of develoPPP Ventures' investments is the creation of sustainable social and environmental impact. The current portfolio of over 30 companies focuses on agritech, fintech, healthtech, renewable energy and e-mobility. Supporting businesses run or founded by women is a key objective.

Trained as an anthropologist, Julia has extensive experience in inclusive business, impact measurement and private sector initiatives in international cooperation, having worked for various actors in the field over the past 15 years. This includes roles in the market research industry, the non-profit sector and international consulting in Germany and Nigeria.
