Mercy Abang is the Co-managing Director and CEO at Hostwriter; she is an award-winning Journalist from Nigeria, a former reporter and a freelance producer with Al-Jazeera Media Network. Mercy oversees operations and doubles as Unbias the News editor.

Mercy has reported stories across communities in Africa, from TV Host and reporters to Print media, and has reported from the United Nations in New York, covering world leaders and the security council meetings. She started her media career in political reporting; she is very versatile in geopolitics; she then prioritised development reporting in her work as a Journalist.

She holds a Journalism degree and an MBA in Entrepreneurship from Berlin, Germany. Mercy's passion lies in the rapid and radical innovations that are transforming the media and tech landscape, stemming from extensive experience in both digital and broadcast media. She is a media founder herself and invests in tech startups.

She holds a Journalism degree, a postgraduate in advertising and public relations and an MBA in Entrepreneurship from Berlin, Germany.

Mercy's passion lies in the rapid and radical innovations that are transforming the media and tech landscape, stemming from extensive experience in both digital and broadcast media. She is a media founder herself and invests in tech startups, and she serves on boards and advisory councils. 

Named one of 10 Young Nigerian Women to Watch in 2012 - She's one of the Leading Ladies of Africa's 2021 list of most inspiring Nigerian women and other notable Nigerian women; in 2017, she won the award as the woman of the year in broadcast journalism in Nigeria. In the same year, Mercy was awarded by her state government in Nigeria, Cross River State, as part of its 50th anniversary to mark the creation of the state as the 50 Young People to Watch. In 2021, she was named the most powerful woman in journalism. Mercy was one of the 2022 world journalists of the year award judges.
