Friederike Fröbel is a research associate at the German Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) in the research department DRX. She is an engineer for clothing technology/manufacturing (B.Sc.). She completed her studies with a Master's in Media Informatics at the Berliner Hochschule für Technik (BHT). She has years of experience in teaching and project experience with innovative new technologies in human-computer interaction, such as low-cost hardware and FLOS software. In the BMBF project "Uplinx" (2018 - 2019), a cross-location qualification programme for machine learning with direct practical and application relevance, she led the thematic focus on wearable computing and the Internet of Things (IoT). From 2018 to 2021, she was project manager for DFKI in the BMBF-funded project "MYOW- Make your Own Wearables". She also led the project "Miadé" at the DFKI. At the University of the Arts Berlin, she has taught design methods in several compact courses. She is a regular lecturer for "Smart Clothing and human-centered Design" at the HTW Berlin. Since the winter semester 2022/23, she is teaching "Fashionable Technologies" in the Interface Cultures master programme at the University of Arts Linz, Austria.
