Teun Toebes (24) is a care innovator whose mission is to improve the quality of life of people with dementia worldwide. For years, he has been fighting for a better world for people with dementia because he believes that every person has the right to the best possible standard of living, regardless of age or diagnosis. As a nursing home resident for more than three years, he has experienced why this change is so badly needed, which is why Teun decided to take his mission to the next level by looking beyond Dutch borders.
To find answers about how we can make the future more beautiful and inclusive, he travelled the world with filmmaker Jonathan de Jong over the past few years for the international documentary 'Human Forever' to see what we can learn from other countries. The film premiered at a G20 summit on dementia, broke all records in the Netherlands and is now going global.
Teun Toebes has more than 125 thousand followers on social media and can be seen a lot in the (international) media. He speaks widely at international conferences and previously published the #1 global bestseller The Housemates, Een Wereld te Winnen and the international award-winning documentary 'Human Forever'. During Re:publica, Teun will also connect you with the hopeful message and lessons he has learned.
