For the author, psychologist, psychotherapist and special education teacher André Frank Zimpel one thing is certain: democracy requires every individual to be recognised as having the potential to develop their own unique intelligence. In order to realise this potential, people are dependent on other people and social participation. This raises major questions: Is neurodiversity the greatest - yet most underutilised - resource on our planet?
At #rp25, he will explain the challenges that await future generations and why we need to rethink education: Away from rigid norms, towards a future in which machines woöö do (most) the logical thinking for us - which allows us to use our intellectual capacities more meaningfully.
André Frank Zimpel is a professor specialised in ‘Learning and Development’ at the University of Hamburg and heads the Centre for Neurodiversity Research (ZNDF) Hamburg/Eppendorf. He has been studying various forms of neurodivergence for more than forty years
