Repair workshop: upgrade your old phone drop-in and demo

Old smartphones can be given new life with an open source Android distribution. 

We’ll go step by step through the process - showing how to find a phone Operating system distribution that fits your phone, setting up a boot loader and then installing your new Operating system.

We’ll encourage before the session to bring any devices they can work on with expert help - both in this session and at other times at the repair café. But this demonstration will also work as a demonstration session.

We’ll also give an overview and host a discussion of repair projects and cafes in Berlin - we’ll explore some of the common challenges they face and how we can all help to grow repair networks in Berlin and further afield to build our community resilience and to radically reduce our carbon impact.
