How does artificial intelligence transform the cultural sector – and what unimagined (artistic) possibilities does it open up? What impact will it have on technical, economic, legal and ethical dimensions?
One thing is clear: it is high time that the cultural sector faces the opportunities and challenges presented by AI: PROMPTING CULTURE!

The Senate Department for Culture and Community in Berlin and re:publica are inviting all cultural stakeholders, artists and other interested parties to shed light on and discuss the most current and pressing issues surrounding this topic.

PROMPTING CULTURE_The AI Conference

When: Sunday, 26 May 2024 (day before re:publica 24 starts), 12-6.30 pm, followed by a get-together
Where: Lokschuppen, Deutsches Technikmuseum

PROMPTING CULTURE_The Programme

The AI conference is both a place for inspiration and debate.
The programme is intended to illustrate changes and opportunities, provide orientation and invite discussion, amazement, learning and exchange. Because there is a lot at stake: whether art, music, theatre, museums or libraries - the artistic sector and our culture in particular have recently been facing a transformation, the consequences of which are not yet foreseeable.
How exactly does generative AI actually work? What new aesthetics does it create? How do cultural stakeholders adapt, shape or create their own AI-based tools for their working practice? Are own artistic works protectable by copyright and AI-generated works worthy of protection? Which tools and platforms can cultural institutions use to utilise the new possibilities transparently and fairly?

We will find answers to all these and many other questions in talks and discussions. You can also experience and interact with AI – look forward to interventions, an AI operetta and interactive exhibitions.

Thanks a lot for your overwhelming interest! As capacities are limited, the event is fully booked for the time being. Further information will follow shortly.
