Can I register my volunteer work at re:publica as educational leave?

The applications for this are currently in progress - but we can't say anything more specific at the moment. In case re:publica 25 will be recognised as educational time, we will inform you on our channels.

However, this does not mean that educational leave is not possible. Just ask your employer; there are often special internal guidelines on this. Experience shows that some employers are willing to make arrangements due to the character of re:publica. You may also be granted leave without the event being officially certified.

In principle, it is not possible to have periods of work recognised as "Bildungurlaub/-zeit" (educational leave). However, the experience of some former volunteers shows that some employers are willing to make it possible, because of the educational nature of re:publica – so it's best to ask your employer directly.
