Can I register my volunteer work at re:publica as educational leave?

Officially no. In principle, it is not possible to have periods of work recognised as "Bildungurlaub/-zeit" (educational leave). However, the experience of some former volunteers shows that some employers are willing to agree on this because of the educational nature of re:publica – so it's best to ask your employer directly.
