Leyla is an information scientist and researcher at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Her research focuses on digital well-being and health information behavior of vulnerable groups. For her study on the information behavior of unaccompanied, minor refugees, she was awarded with the »Gerhard Lustig Award 2021«.  She has been involved in various research projects in the intersection of humans, ICT and health, e.g., at the »Digital Participation and Inclusion Lab« (University of Applied Sciences Potsdam), at the »Human Computer Interaction Lab« (Hasso Plattner Institute) and at the »Center for for Open Digital Innovation and Participation« (Technische Universität Dresden). Since September 2022, she is part of the research team DESIVE² »Science Disinformation in Health Contexts« (Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin), which is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research in Germany (BMBF).
